Reporter Jared Owens at The Australian published the Senate’s decision in an article at about 3.45 Perth time.

The proposal to deregulate university fees has been met with large amounts of protest from student communities at large, as well as various academics and faculty members across the board.

Labor Party Spokesperson for higher education Kim Carr questioned the integrity of vice-chancellors in support of fee deregulation, during interviews in Canberra this morning.

The deregulation bill will be introduced to Senate tomorrow, where it is reported to likely be rejected once more.
