There are moments when people, places or things just hit the spot. The spot that makes you stop for a moment and think…”where have you been all my life!?” And a feeling of yes comes rushing inward. Recently, I discovered a little place just like this:

Pixel Coffee Brewers is a dream come-true for owners and coffee enthusiasts Kaya McCarthy, Juliana Nobre and Jen Murray. After many years in the coffee industry and working with Five Senses Coffee, these women have finally opened their own doors to an amazing cafe in Leederville, Perth.

“Pixel Coffee Brewers is a collaboration three women in coffee who wanted to showcase their love of specialty coffee, tea, food and design,” McCarthy said.

Pixel is beautiful. It’s small, fresh and welcoming. The crisp white walls with hints of light blue pixelating tiles and lightly coloured wooden furniture create a bright and open space for the 20 seats they have available to diners. Pixel is brimming with vibrant coloured flowers and amazing scents fill the air! Just entering the front door of Pixel pulls a smile to one’s face before you even begin to consume all the wonderful food and drinks available

Let’s talk coffee! It’s rich and delicious. Espresso, iced, brewed filter, drip and nitro cold brew. Whatever you fancy, Pixel has it waiting for you. And as for tea, they have an amazing range of handpicked organic teas. Although I have not tried them all, I am in love with the Oolong Tea and can only imagine just how delicious the other options are. On top of the coffee and tea products made in house, Pixel also has a range of cold pressed juices from Inner Ego and a range of Kombucha teas from Indibucha Kombucha Brews and Gypsy Elixirs.

The food? Amazing! Although specialty coffee and tea is Pixel’s focus, McCarthy, Nobre and Murray along with the small kitchen team have created a short but incredible breakfast menu offering a plate for everyone’s taste buds. Six menu items each featuring fresh and local produce. On top of this, Pixel offers a beautiful display cabinet filled with sweet and savoury goodies. Lunchtime options include daily made sandwiches, salads, savoury tarts and wraps. And sweet treats are a delicious mix of baked goods and raw desserts.

I don’t think it would be possible for me to choose a favourite, so I guess you’ll have to come try all these glorious treats yourself! Pixel is open seven days a week from 7am until 3pm. Breakfast is served until 11.30am. Lunch and desert options are served all day.

Pixel Coffee Brewers is located at 2/226 Oxford Street, Leederville.
