Music // Pat Chow @ The Velvet Lounge

Pat Chow are starting their June residency at the Velvet Lounge tonight, to raise some money to press their debut album onto vinyl. It’ll be a killer month with many killer P-town bands taking the stage alongside Pat Chow who will deliver you “a healthy dose of gun slingin’, goon swillin’, country infused grunge-pop goodness.”

Along with the goon swillin’ tonight, you will also get some well needed doses of Shit Narnia, Yokohomos & Ursula. Good price for good pints, doors at 8pm.

Friday 5.06

Art // Wilderness User by Sheridan Coleman @ Paper Mountain

One of our favourite local galleries Paper Mountain, is hosting the opening night of Sheridan Coleman’s solo exhibition Wilderness User. The works were created in relationship with her PhD study, which looks at the way Google Earth and Google Maps may have impacted the way landscape is perceived by artists and viewers.

Artist talk begins at 5pm, and the night runs from 6-8pm. If by unfortunate chance you miss the eventing, you’re in luck as the exhibition will run until the 21st of June.

Music // I, Said The Sparrow @ The Rosemount

Local pop-rockers I, Said The Sparrow are taking a short break from the studio to tear up the Rosemount’s stage along side Avastera and Lights of Berlin. Following on from their debut album ‘Deathpop’, Sparrow will be sure to tickle some ear drums with some new material and maybe even some album teasers set for release late 2015. Doors at 8pm | $10.

Saturday 6.06

Eat + Drink // City Wine Festival

Perthians love pop-ups and what do we love more than pop-ups? Bar pop-ups at the Urban Orchard/Perth Cultural Centre. Friday and Saturday afternoons/nights The Urban Orchard will play host to the City Wine Festival, where all locally produced WA wine will be on display, available for tasting and available for partying. Be sure to brush up on your wine theory and head on down.

Music // Methyl Ethel Album Launch @ The Bird

What’s better than release day? An album launch and an album lunch? Yes that’s correct, Methyl Ethel will be performing some if not all of the new album ‘Oh Inhuman Spectacle’ at The Bird on Saturday night alongside Cosmo Gets and Benjamin Witt and then the band will be BBQ’ing and DJ’ing on Sunday. Weekend complete.
