Perth Shoegazers Dream Rimmy need some dough to record an album, so what better way to raise funds then to have a party at the Bird? Joining them is The Spunloves, The Wheelers of Oz and Gunns. It’s only $5 at the door so you’d be crazy to miss out.

Paper Mountain’s common room is getting a cool makeover and getting expanded for some upcoming events and this Friday night is the big reveal! Also on the night will be a workshop program for emerging artsts and graduates. There will be food, drinks and beats allllll night.

All the way over from the east comes shoegazers Flyying Colours, who have been generating some buzz recently from their EP “ROYGBIV” and is set to release in Australia on August 21st. Joining them on the night is Mt Mountain, Pat Chow, SpaceMan Antics and Ursula.

Dada is having another show at their fine record store this weekend with dream pop duo Erasers, post-hardcore band Lytta and solo artist Chris Cobilis. These things are always great and a good way to chill before you head out on a Saturday night.

Post-hardcore peeps Flowermouth are releasing their EP Urethane at Amplifier on Saturday along with The Others, PUCK and Filthy Apes. This band have had a pretty huge year so this is set to be one hell of a show.

MUSIC // JACK RABBIT SLIM’S LAUNCH

The launch of any new Perth music venue is great news and Jack Rabbit Slim’s on Aberdeen Street makes its grand entrance on Saturday night, drawing LA R&B artist JMSN along with Koi Child and Dream Rimmy. The place offers alcoholic milkshakes and is open until 5am, so make sure you head on down to check it out!
