Kicking off the early WAM weekend is the WA Awards night at JRS’s, which should be a hell of an evening. With nominees including Kevin Parker, Jacob Diamond and Pond, you’ll be in good company! To get access to this event you’ll need an invite, or a ticket to a WA Music Conference event (which can be purchased on the WAM website. Perth comedy hero Jeff Hewitt is hitting up the Sail and Anchor to perform his excellent routine along with a bunch of other Perth comedians, head down to this if you’re keen for a laugh. Doors at 7:30 for a 8pm start + tickets only $5.
~Wrong Side of The Tracks 2015 @ The Railway Hotel~
Deafcatsounds is bringing one hell of a brutal lineup to the Railway Hotel this Friday night with Acid Baby Jesus coming all the way from Greece headlining the evening. Joining them is the cream of the Perth garage/psych crop, including Kitchen People, The Pissedcolas, Aborted Tortoise and more. Doors at 7pm, Tickets are $15.

Record label/Publication Pilerats have a had a big 2015 and they’ll be celebrating WAM week this year with a showcase at JRS’s. Featuring some fantastic Australian producers such as Sable, Catlips, Florian and Time Pilot, this one is sure to be a good one. Also FREE ENTRY, you really can’t say know.
~Saturday WAM Spectacular!!~
Wowwee Northbridge is the place to be this Saturday with The Bird, The Boston, Ezra Pound, Flyrite, Jimmy’s Den, The Moon, The Mustang Bar, Universal Bar + Wilson St Carpark (Block Party) are ALL opening their doors for more that 80 acts to play from midday to 2am and once again ITS ALL FREE. See ya there!

No this isn’t a creatively named gig at Babushka, this is the FREAKIN WORLD SCRABBLE CHAMPIONSHIP PEOPLE. Hosted at Gloucester Park in East Perth, the general public are invited to come along and have a gander at this history-making event. Come down and get wordy with your fellow wordsmiths.
